Kenley - Age 5 (Almost)

Tomorrow, my first born, the baby that made me a mommy, turns 5 (FIVE!). Why does age 5 seem SO old? I mean, it's a whole handful of fingers old! It seems like both yesterday and a lifetime ago that she was born on a gloomy President's Day. She is an awesome, but very tricky kid to parent. She and I are so much alike that we butt heads...a lot. But having her a part of our family is the best ever. She both tests and teaches me daily, and constantly inspires me to be better, and do better.

She loves all things Masters of the Universe, Elena of Avalor, and Trolls (her room is covered with sketches she drew of them). She is extremely artsy - constantly drawing, coloring, and creating. She loves all arts and crafts, loves wearing costumes, choreographs dances for herself and her sister, and enjoys putting on shows. She loves ballet and tap, but hip hop class is her favorite because it's "regular" dancing. She loves makeup, nail polish, tattoos, jewelry, purses, and her favorite hairstyle is a low pony with a bow. All the colors are her favorite and she loves mixing patterns. She is shy (but social), an incredible friend, a daddy's girl, and mommy's personality clone. She is stubborn, a vegan, loves planet Earth and animals (I can totally see her joining a vegan, nudist, hippie group and leading a protest for animal rights). She is obsessed with Halloween and has her costumes picked out for the next 10 years (I really need to write them down and hold her to it). Her best friend is Elliot, she plans to marry Charlie, but she is betrothed to Quinn. She briefly played baseball before our season got rained out. She loves baking, desperately wants a dog who she plans on naming "Bella Tank", is great with babies (oh my goodness my uterus), and loves knock knock jokes. Her favorite musical artists are Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, and Justin Bieber. She plans on having a cabbage garden when she grows up but hates eating cabbage. And she is THE best, most loyal, extremely protective big sister in the world.

This kid, she's awesome.

She loves this dress because it's red like Elena of Avalor's.

Anytime face painting is avail, she's all for it.

She loves goats almost as much as I love her.

This mac and cheese was "too cheesy". She didn't try it for 5 and 1/2 hours.

But ice cream, that's the best ever.

Wearing one million patterns and holding her craft from Skirball Museum.

Pre-dance class snacks.

First time playing baseball! Team - The Dodgers, Number - 16.

Just a rad kid taking a zoo break.

She is always schooling me on fashion.

Sweet glasses for a bodacious kid.

Mud is her jam.

Don't your kids dress fancy for the playground?

Heart this goofball forever.
