You’re a mean one Mr. Grinch

This past weekend we went to Universal Studios' Grinchmas. I’ve been looking forward to it for 2 years. I didn’t get to go last year and it almost didn’t happen this year. Doesn’t Universal know I live for this stuff?

We went with our friends Lauren and Josh (whom I apparently have NO photos of?). The decorations were amazing (which I also have no photos of) and they have so many fun things for kids to do:  cookie decorating, tree trimming, story time with Cindy Loo, ornament making, etc. Oh, and meeting the Grinch and his dog Max. Santa, you have nothing on terrifying my daughter. The Grinch has got you beat! I thought maybe the dog would have distracted her but nope, so many tears. Can’t really blame her though, he is kinda scary.

As little fun as meeting the Grinch was, she LOVED playing in the Jurassic Play area. How have I not known about this John? I swear you’ve never told me.

Ho Ho Ho – Santa Terror

I thought last year would be the year of terror but nope, this year was it. When we went to see Santa a couple of weeks ago, this girl lost it! The photo doesn’t nearly show how truly terrified she was. I must admit, I am a little happy I have a Santa screaming photo.
Last years photo HERE.

Metro

Last Friday John had the day off so we thought it would be fun to take the metro down to Hollywood. It’s been on my to-do list with Kenley forever. She didn’t care too much for the metro but the escalator and stairs at Hollywood and Highland were pretty fun.

Swim Lessons!

I took Kenley to her first ever swim lesson this morning! Oh my goodness, it was so exciting and Kenley loved it…for about 10 minutes until we tried to get her to go with the teacher. Ya right, terrible idea. She pretty much whined for the rest of the class. I’m totally making her go back though.  I’m the meanest. But this girl NEEDS to get comfortable in the water. I mean we live in LA and its summer. So many pool and beach trips to take! And we really need to learn some safety techniques while in the water.

loved playing in the grass after class though

Splash Pad #2

We found a super close splash pad this week and the reviews were amazing! What the reviews didn’t mention was that it is super crazy and you need to be at least 6 years old to enjoy it. The thing was huge and so crazy! Kenley was not happy when I didn’t let her in. She would have been pummeled! We found a lovely muddle puddle instead which totally satisfied her splash craving.

Happy 1st Day of Summer!

Summer is here which means it’s time to get out and get wet! Or get out and go somewhere air conditioned. LA is hot hot hot. Kenley and I spent the afternoon at a splash pad and it was a blast.

Happy Summer everyone and have a wonderful weekend!

Park Dating

Pretty much we live at the park lately.

chilly morning at the park

all the baby swings were taken so she was a big girl on this one!

new friend noemi

sand

tunnel fun!

new friend neve. she chased him ALL over the park

found a walking stick just her size!

Part of why we go so often is because it’s super fun and the other part is I’m hoping to make some more “mom” friends. Anyone have experience with this? Like any good pick up lines? I swear, meeting moms is like dating! And I haven’t done that in YEARS. We’ve met a few moms but then we part ways and I never see them again. Is it too forward to ask for their digits?
