love, us: 15 Reasons my Kids are Like SO LA

Little by little I'm noticing my tinys are starting to act a little "LA" and are used to things that are "LA". Growing up in Los Angeles is very unique. It's completely different than my childhood growing up in the mountains of Lake Tahoe or John's childhood of growing up on a farm in Fallon, NV. It's got both it's pros and cons but mostly, it's awesome. As long as they don't start saying things like "She's my friend because we both know what it's like for people to be jealous of us" - from Clueless. Btw, I LOVE that movie.

15 Reasons my Kids are like SO LA:

1. My kids are used to going to the park (and other public places) and sections of it being closed for shooting.

2. If it's under 65 degrees my kids are FREEZING. They wouldn't last a day in the mountains.

3. When we go out to a restaurant Kenley always assumes it is to go to Chipotle or "Inside Out" (In-N-Out).

4. They can, and sometimes do, eat avocado or guacamole for all meals of their day. Our refrigerator is always full of avocados and guacamole and if it's not, prepare for a complete Eleanor meltdown.

5. They associate Christmastime with snow but only because of TV/movies/books. They have no idea what it looks like or feels like.

6. Celebrities don't phase them one bit. They are used to seeing people like Tim Allen, Rebel Wilson, Gwen Stefani, Mario Lopez, and Liam Hemsworth. They are also used to actors telling them how cute they are. Ie: Emmy award winning Margo Martindale was obsessed with Eleanor at the grocery store.

7. They have theme park passes or have been to all major LA theme parks.

8. People ask them if they have representation.

9. They assume they can go to the beach any time, any season. October beach day? No problem! I trick-or-treated during blizzards in Tahoe.

We make sand angels instead of snow angels.

10. Kenley was born a true vegan. She is slowly turning into a vegetarian though.

11. They frequent places seen in TV or the movies. Ie: Hollywood sign, Universal Studios Hollywood, the Griffith Observatory, Circus Liquor (we drive by it all the time), etc.

12. Kenley was in a commercial when she was two. Well, correction, she shot a commercial. I don't think they used my crying kid to promote Super Silly Fun Land at Universal Studios Hollywood. Click HERE to see my blog post about the shoot.

13. They are good in the car and are used to traffic on the 405. "Mommy, do we need to take the fast road to get there?". Fast Road = Freeway

14. Kenley "plays" photo shoot taking pictures of us and her toys.

15. They have been to more museums in their 4 years and 1.5 years of life than I had in 25 years. They also know how to behave in museums which is incredible for tiny humans.
